Campaign Story

My name is Victoria Hogue. I have a beautiful one-year-old daughter and an outstanding Husband name Daniel. We also have custody of my 14-year-old sister. In our spare time, we enjoy playing in the yard with our dogs or remodeling our house. Our daughter loves to watch us or join us in everything. We have lots of girls in the house and are hoping to add a boy very soon. Our family is full of love and full of life. It would be amazing to continue to fill our halls with joy and laughter.

I had a very severe miscarriage last year. We thought everything would be okay, but I started to hemorrhage. It was terrifying. I was 10 weeks pregnant. Not extremely far along but so close to the second trimester. They always tell you that your odds of something bad happening decrease SUBSTANTIALLY after hitting the second trimester. I thought, if I could make it to 12 weeks, everything would be okay. I did not make it to 12 weeks. After hours of bleeding and not knowing if I was going to make it, they wheeled me away from my husband for surgery. I woke up in a daze, alone in a room, not knowing what happened. All I knew was that I had lost our baby. It would have been a girl. They didn’t let my husband back there to see me until a while later.

When my official due date came around, and I didn’t have a baby to bring home from the hospital, it hit me hard again. Just when you think you are moving past something, it knocks you down even harder. We decided to try for a baby again. We cannot have any more children, so we are planning to use a surrogate. We know that it won’t replace the baby we lost, and we would never want it to, but it is a second chance for us to have a complete family. Our girls are wonderful, but we would still like to add a boy into our lives.
